10$ INCOME PER DAY TRICK

I'm going to post this anonymously in respects to people I've worked with, but feel free to comment if you have questions.

I have Hong Kong and US residency, I'm 26 years old making over $15KUSD a month. I dropped out of High School but got huge success just after high school by building a video game website that had a lot of traffic, 6.5m hits a month. It got my career started as a software engineer and at that time I was only making about $1,500USD/month, every 3 months or so I would get a 50% raise. Fast forward 2 years, I found another job and later my salary was just under $6,000USD/month. Bare in mind that this was in Hong Kong and not in the US where the pay for software engineers or anyone in general is significantly lower.

I felt I was more than qualified to start a company at this point so I raised $400,000 USD to start a company from family and friends. It was a huge failure to keep a long story short, collapsed in 1 year.

So after that, I took my credit cards and went to Silicon Valley where software engineers do get paid on average $120k a year. I only applied for 2 jobs and got in touch with 2 recruiters. The recruiters were absolutely.

But the 2 jobs I applied for just before my 2 month trip was about to end took interest in me, all they wanted was a code sample. I delivered and got a high paying contract above the average salary for software engineeers.

For me there were 2 distinct types of people I worked with in my career. Those who talk a lot and those who do a lot. Guess which one ends up being more successful.

I went to a prestigious High School in Hong Kong but dropped out when I was 15. I don't know anyone of my class mates who makes more money than me at this point. I run a consultancy for software development on my own with some software developers I know and also work for a software consultancy, sounds complicated, but I learned to delegate tasks so that my time would not conflict.

I work nearly every waking hour because I know time is short. I want to leave my mark on the world. I could continue starving and trying to create a startup or work for a company and start decent bucks and do a startup later using all the experience I have learned. I chose the later. I enjoy experiencing and working for lots of different people. It's also much easier to get a high paying job. There are so many idiots that can't even earn $10KUSD a month wanting to create companies. I was one of them before, I'm not anymore.

Everyone I work with right now is satisfied with my performance and when compared to peers I currently write 85x more commits than anyone on the projects I work on with 100% test coverage.

Long story short, do your best and the money will come. Never give up no matter how little money you have or how disappointed you are in yourself or others. Every-time I chased money I failed, every-time I chased passion the money came. Make yourself unstoppable, defendable. Blog every-time you succeed on doing something challenging, open source your work, always bring a positive attitude no matter where you go. Smile at people when you see them doing stupid things. Only advice when sincerely begged for it.

I get paid to do what I love doing, building stuff, writing software and I wouldn't trade places with anyone any day.

Here's another thing, my expenses are so low it's ridiculous, my rent is $500USD/month because I live at my friends place. I bought a Kawasaki Ninja 300 in cash to drive my self to the BART station. I can live like this because I don't have to prove a thing to anyone, I proved it to my self.

Style is not bought with money, it's bought with experience. Even if I lose all my contracts, my job, my wealth could sustain myself for a year just off of 1 months pay. How many people do you know have that as opposed to earning a high salary?
